Encore

Encore is a mixed-media guitar created entirely from recycled materials collected in Nashville, Tennessee. Inspired by the city’s relationship with music, the piece gives discarded materials an opportunity for one more performance.

The guitar was constructed from repurposed cardboard and covered with individually cut pieces of recycled CDs, creating a fragmented, mirror-like surface that shifts as it catches the light. Reclaimed wire forms the strings and finishing details, ensuring that every element of the piece comes from something previously used.

Like an encore, the materials return in a new form rather than reaching their end. What was once discarded becomes something worth looking at again—a reflection of Nashville, music, and the creative potential of giving old materials another purpose.
